Fall is a bittersweet time of year. The sunny hot days of summer are now cooler. The green lushness of the trees turn to beautiful striking golds, reds and oranges. And the daylight slowly dims earlier each evening. Fall is the herald of winter. Autumn is a time to create memories or reminisce on old times. I remember riding in a rough and prickly hay ride with my youth group. Pumpkin picking and carving when my daughters were younger. Dining on delicious carmel apples covered with chocolate and nuts - my mouth is watering.
Fall is a season of change. Transformation. Hibernation. Preparation. Let's imitate nature - God's creation - and take this season of fall to work on our change journey, transformation, preparation and/or hibernation. Is there something in your life that needs to change? Although change may sting it can be a beautiful thing - similar to the leaves. Check out the Help to Jump Start Your Change Journey post for tips. As Christ followers transformation is part of our relationship with Christ. Fall is part of the transformation journey into winter. With the shorter days and cooler weather it's a great time to read 10 Tips Toward Total Transformation. How is your transformation journey? Autumn is harvest time. A time for preparation for winter. Is there a goal, objective, business, class, etc you need to prepare for? Now is the perfect time to do research, journal, pray for those things. Read Success: What they don't teach you for motivation. Hibernation is spending the winter in a deep sleep. Boy I wish I could do that! Fall is a great time to start getting more rest and relaxation. Start to make this a habit. Practice the sabbath. Spend a day in worship, rest, relaxing with family and friends. This can be continued through out the year. Read Sleep. It Does a Body Good for tips and tools. I pray this fall the Spirit of the Lord will renew our thoughts and attitudes. May we experience God's peace, grace and mercy as we continue throughout this season of change, transformation, preparation and hibernation. I pray all this in Jesus name! Thank you for reading.
