Faith is power. The definition of faith from the Oxford American Dictionary means reliance or trust in a person or thing. However, it’s hard to have faith in something or someone who is imperfect. Eventually that thing or person won’t be able to uphold our trust or be reliant because it will break or have a bad day, for example. Think of how many people or things you had faith in that let you down. I’m sure the list is long. Sorry, I don’t mean to make you feel some type of way. I write these things so you can think on them. Being mindful of who or what we have faith in.
Faith works when the thing or person we have trust in is perfect, infallible and incorruptible. Faith is trusting in Jesus. I have reliance and trust in Jesus = faith. Jesus is the gift from God to us so we can have a perfect someone to have faith in. I can’t think of any other way to write that sentence. But I think you know what I mean. Faith in Jesus is the foundation of being a Christ follower. If we don’t trust or rely on Jesus for our salvation, then we won’t be able to have the relationship with God we are created for. Jesus is faith. “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrew 12:2 (NIV) I repeat, faith is power. Jesus is power. Faith - in Jesus- assists us to do great things for the kingdom of God. “With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11 Relying on faith – Jesus – blesses us. “Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.” Galatians 3:8 – 9 Faith in Jesus is pleasing to God. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 Various facets abound with faith in Jesus. Too many to list and describe in detail in this post. These are a few of the benefits of faith in Jesus. Faith in Jesus will never have harm you. Faith is not a gift we give. Faith is a gift we can receive. Faith was born in a lowly manger. Then faith died for us undeserving people. After, faith lifted high to sit beside our awesome God. Thank you, Lord for the wonderful gift of Faith! The gift we can give to others is telling them about this powerful faith. Or we can show the gift of faith to others by the fruit we produce. The fruit of kindness, goodness, patience and more will help people experience Jesus love. Recently I watched the Crazy Faith series from Transformation Church in Tulsa, OK. Pastor Mike Todd is a refreshing young man who loves Jesus – and he’s funny! This Crazy Faith series covers all the facets of faith. It transformed my faith. I pray you will be transformed in your faith by this series. Here is the YouTube link. How do you view faith? I love to hear your comments. Thank you for reading!
