I love the Mission Impossible movies. I watched every last one of them. I can watch them again and again. Except the third one, that wasn’t my favorite. The best one was Rogue Nation. The motorcycle chase scene between Tom Cruise’s character, Ethan, and Rebecca Ferguson’s character, Ilsa is a nail - biting action sequence. I admit, I imagine myself as Ilsa. Ethan was foiled in that scene. However, he always seems to get the mission accomplished down to the last second, at the end of every movie.
Do you know you have a mission? At times the mission may seem impossible. Some people may have action packed missions. Other’s missions may seem easy (seem is the operative word). You are uniquely crafted to carry out your assignment for the kingdom of God. A mission you chose to accept after confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. A duty only carried out with help from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” Galatians 5:16 NLT Your assignment uses spiritual gifts given to you by the Holy Spirit. These gifts can be an encourager, teacher, preacher, helper and others. Supernatural abilities placed upon you when you seem to be down on your last leg. I’m a volunteer girls basketball coach with mostly at - risk girls. We meet once a week. Sometimes, I really don’t feel like going – I’m keeping it real. If it wasn’t the Holy Spirit compelling me to go and love on these girls, I would be at home in my PJ’s! I go, without complaining and grumbling (ok maybe a little) and usually have a powerful time spreading Jesus love to these girls. All because of God working in me giving me the desire and power to do what is pleasing to Him (see Philippians 2:13). Your assignment is to spread God’s love. Give to the least of us. Shelter those who have none. Adopt or foster children. Be a servant leader at your job. Be the light at your job. Advance the good news far and wide. “So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:11-12 NLT What is your assignment? God places desires of His heart in you to advance the kingdom. One assignment of mine is spreading the message of worth and value to young girls. Leave your assignment in the comments. Let’s help each other in our mission! With God on your side this mission is possible. ““Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”” Matthew 19:26b Thanks for reading! God gives you everything you need for your mission. I pray you believe this! Please like, share, follow and/or comment this post.
