Be the she who honors God first.
Welcome to the She Who Honors 5 week challenge! I pray this challenge will help you in your walk with God and your path to the abundant life he created you for. Although its just a 5 week challenge these topics should become part of your lifestyle. Try to pray, think and do these exercises daily until it’s a part of your daily routine. You will see a change and feel better physically, mentally and spiritually.
It's great to do this around Christmas time to put our focus more on God and the gift of Jesus birth and less on the material gifts that are part of Christmas.
When you wake up in the morning, what is the first thing you think about? Is it coffee, tea, more sleep, what you have to do today, your hubby, kids, yourself? Or do you wake up and say thank you God for another day? I must admit, I’m not a morning person and I may not be very talkative in the morning, but I do give God praise first as much as possible. There are times when I open my eyes and just lay there mind racing with thoughts, but I stop my thoughts from going crazy and just say thank you to God!
When we put God first He gives us wisdom and access to kingdom living here on earth. Proverbs 3:6 (TLB) says, “In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.”
“He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God, and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.” 2 Chronicles 26:5
If you read my blog you know I love defining words. The definition of prosper according to the Oxford American Dictionary is to be successful to thrive. The definition of thrive is to grow and develop well and vigorously. Vigorously means full of vigor. Vigor means physical strength and good health (dictionary.com)
To sum it up, when you put God first He will make you grow and develop well and be full of strength and good health!
Put God first in all you do. Pray and talk to Him first thing in the morning, give thanks to Him before you eat, Stop and praise the Lord throughout the day. Read the Bible daily, write down verses that jump out at you or give you a little heart flutter. Before asking a friend for advice on something, ask God and read the Bible for answers first. If your friend’s advice is in line with the Bible, awesome! The Bible is your life manual. Pray, pray, did I say pray? Give Him all the praise and worship. When we worship God, He gives us wisdom. Keep your thoughts on Him and His word.
Your challenge for week one is to write a letter to God every day. It can be any type of letter. After you write the letter read it out loud to God. He loves hearing your voice! There is a free printable letter head you can use to write the letter to the Lord.
